9 ways to look stylish at the office this Winter

Tartan

Tartan has made a comeback in a big way in 2018, but it can sometimes be a bit loud for office wear. For a day look, try avoiding all over tartan in the form of a suit and opt for tartan pants with a block coloured shirt or light sweater. If possible chose one of the colours in your tartan item to use for the rest of the outfit, for example navy and red tartan pants would go very well with a navy jumper, coat, bag and shoes. I always feel like braving tartan is quite a statement, it’s definitely power dress for me.

Leopard print shoes

I am a big believer in Leopard print as it goes with everything, so I am very happy to see it back. Just like tartan you don’t need to go all leopard, a touch goes a long way. Leopard print shoes would make a fabulous add to your wardrobe, low boots, moccasins, or even tennis shoes if your office is laid back. I once had a pair of leopard print court shoes and I wore them out, I am scouting for a 2019 version with a block heel as I write! Important note – keep the leopard print as the only pattern in the outfit, working colours around the daring item.

Statement earrings

These have been making a comeback for a while now and are by far my favourite way to add style to any ensemble without breaking the bank. These are some of my favourite pieces, think big, think bold.

Velvet hair ribbon or head band

This new (or maybe old revisited) hair accessory cannot be missed, it is literally all over the web and I love it! At thirty six however I live in fear of looking to ‘high school’ with this accessory and will be going for a low messy pony or bun, and a headband rather than a ribbon.

Jumpsuit

These have been around for a couple of years now so you probably already have one, well it’s time to dress it up with a suit jacket and heels for the office. If your jumpsuit is a casual model (in denim, sage green, no open backs or plunging neck lines) definitely add statement earrings to the composition.

Should your jumpsuit be the dressier kind (open back, strapless, off the shoulder) maybe leave it at home for date nights.

Berets

Granted this is one you will probably not wear all day in the office, but it will ensure you make a statement entrance upon arrival. We love this one and this one.

Fringing

Fringing will be adding flow and movement to our Winter attire! I love how feminine fringing always makes me feel, and one simple fringed piece will add a stylish staple to your office basics.

Why not try it in jumper form, bag form, or tops.

Luxury travel mug

If you know my blog and my business you will know I am an advocate for reusable luxury travel mugs, my reasoning is, why ruin a beautifully curated outfit by holding a cheap flimsy paper cup in front of it? If your bag, shoes, and watch all match, why walk into the office in the morning sporting a paper cup looking like a billboard for a coffee shop brand…

Try this lamb’s leather little number to add the ultimate luxury touch to your morning look.

Velvet trousers

Velvet is one of my favourite ways of warming up my outfit in Winter. Velvet trousers will not only update your office day look but will flow seamlessly into a night time outfit for after office drinks. The ultimate Friday wear.

I like these:
